
Next stop was Kalbarri National Park. We checked into Murchison House Station, which was a working goat station. The kids were able to pat and feed baby goats, alpacas, chickens and ducks. The wind was still around so it wasn’t the most pleasant of camps weather wise, but we had fun regardless.
The upside of travelling WA in spring are the wild flowers. From the Pilbara we’ve seen the most amazing array of colours and flowers. At times it has felt that a million different seeds have been sprinkled over the state with a crop duster because the variety is incredible and very unique to Western Australia.
This time it was Sean’s turn for a close snake encounter. He’d wandered off for a “surf check” aka a pee, and returned very pale faced as he’d only just missed stepping on a snake as he was doing his thing. Could have been ugly…
