The Murray

November 22, 2016Leave a commenton the road

We travelled along the Murray through quintessential Ned Kelly country from Renmark in SA to Yarrawonga in VIC. The recent rains meant the Murray was flowing to the brim and full of life. Endless orchards of peaches, plums, citrus, grapes, cherries, pecans, almonds and walnuts set alongside the beautiful Murray river, which was pretty much at full capacity after the recent floods. We had a giggle at the “carparks” full of houseboats parked ready for the masses to arrive. We could only imagine that it would be like Pitt Street if they were all on the river at the same time!

The highlight of all these little towns was Euchuca. Very picturesque and a lovely place to spend a few hours wandering around.
