So now we’re a month into it and school is underway, I would like to think we are starting to get a bit of a handle on it. The first week or so of school was pretty hit and miss as we were packing up the house towards the end we were shoving stuff in boxes, stuff in the camper and stuff in the VW for later, not really paying much attention to the school stuff which kept arriving in volumes in the weeks before we left. I am a little worried that we’ve put some of the stuff for some of the kids in the wrong place as there seem to be a few gaps…as in no spelling or grammar materials for Ashton (it has to be the child that needs it most!) and no maths stuff for Lucas. Lucie seems to be OK for the moment…
Ideally it seems we could knock this out if we committed a solid 2-3 hours each day. We’ve managed this a few times and the kids have been great. I think they are actually all ready to get back into the swing of learning. It’s their parents who keep throwing the routine out the window!
Fishing…we’ve realised this means completely different things to Sean & I. To me it represents awesome, Sean is taking the kids fishing & I get to take some time out. To Sean this means awesome, I get time out as I can’t fish and untangle the lines of 3 small people who manage to cocoon themselves in fishing line every single time…We are still working on something that keeps everyone happy. At the moment the kids are happy…neither Sean or I are having time out but they are all catching lots of lovely fresh salmon and the odd mullet for dinner.
Parking and manouvering the van…. Let’s just say Sean is awesome and he is nailing it. Two thumbs up for Sean!
No Budget update…it’s not our strong point, but we can do some great restaurant reviews!
