The boat ride to Tassie was fairly smooth, other than a few delays getting loaded on. The kids loved it, or rather loved the buffet/pig trough and unlimited Xbox stations. “When can we go on a cruise?!?!” they asked, mmmm…..how about in a couple of weeks when we go back. That’s the only cruising they’ll be doing anytime soon!
We arrived & set up camp in Devonport in the dark which is always interesting, but found we were right on the point, surrounded by water and boats. Sean & I went for a great walk the next day up to the Mersey Bluff while the kids were at the skate park right on the beach. Fantastic set up and very family friendly. Aside from ongoing coffee issues….
Our second night in Devonport the winds picked up and the smoke blew in from the bushfires. We were 100kms from the nearest fire, but still it’s an awful smell and the Bluff we had walked to the previous day was blanketed in smoke.
Loving reading you blog this morning before work.. It will take a few mornings to catch up though . Josh is also loving Lucas’s continued face timing… A great way to keep the friendship going and I love hearing the giggles. We will leave it to you guys to do the ringing as at least you know when you have signal which I am guessing at times might be rare. Just had two stinky hot days and last night was just continuous trips to the bathroom to splash water on us… Oh to have aircon.. Bet you will miss it.. Take care.. Great photos too S,G & J xxxxxxx
Hi Kylie, Sean and kidlets,
Loved seeing you in the skate bowl in my home town Ashton! I spent many summers down that way, jumping off the blow hole and eating icy poles on the grass at the Bluff. I’m enjoying watching your travels and reading your journal entires.
Keep them coming !
We miss your smiling faces in Emma St .
Much love Andy and fam xx
